The IDF has been trying to produce evidence for its claim that Hamas has been using the tunnels for military purposes - an allegation the group has repeatedly denied. Israeli soldiers also showed the group weaponry they said had been found at the hospital, including dozens of AK-47 assault rifles, 20 grenades and several drones allegedly deployed on the battlefield. "I wanted you to see with your own eyes, not through the IDF eyes, the way the message and the method that Hamas uses hospitals as human shield against international law. "Hamas battalion commanders were conducting command and control, firing rockets from here. "Shifa Hospital is the hugest hospital in Gaza, and it's also the hugest terror facility of Hamas," said Daniel Hagari, the Israeli military's chief spokesman. Israel's claims have not been independently verified. They appeared to be out of use, but the Israeli military claimed the facility had been used by Hamas to hold hostages.
